Remembering to Renew your Vehicle Registration before it Expires

Did you receive your notice to renew your vehicle registration? It can be easy to let the expiration date slip by. You get your one-time 60 day reminder in the mail and put it aside until it is closer to the due date. Before you know it, it’s past due and your registration has expired. If your state permits you to renew your vehicle registration online or by mail, do so as soon as possible. Make sure that you allow enough time to receive your new registration certificate and sticker in the mail before your current registration expires. Oh, and remember to sign your new card as soon as you receive it. The Law stipulates, “In order to constitute a valid certificate of registration, the certificate of registration shall be signed by the registrant.”  Keep your certificate in a safe place to protect it from accidental tares and so that it doesn’t get lost.
